WHY TAKE AN EXAM?

Taking a drama exam is similar to taking a piano exam – it provides an opportunity for students and parents to assess growth and measure the progress of skill development. Preparing for an exam helps to teach good learning habits, supports the work that is done in class, and gives a strong sense of pride in accomplishment.

WHAT DOES AN EXAM CONSIST OF?

Typically, students will memorize and prepare pieces of poetry, prose or monologues from plays. The exam consists of presenting these pieces to an examiner and discussing elements of drama presentation and preparation. A short improvisation and/or a cold reading will also be assigned, depending on the grade and category level. Each student receives a written adjudication, a mark based on specific parameters and a diploma for each grade passed. Watch a brief video at: http://www.trinitycollege.co.uk/site/?id=301
