2019 TRINITY EXAMINER
CHRISTOPHER YOUNG
LWCMD DipEd
Examiner in Drama and Speech Subjects
Christopher trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. As an actor he worked extensively in theatre and television and has directed more than 70 productions both in England and America ranging from Greek tragedy and Shakespeare to contemporary drama, musical theatre and opera.

Having been invited to establish a drama department at Harrogate College of Arts he eventually became the head of Visual and Performing Arts. Whilst there he was responsible for the vocational training of actors and theatre workers - many of whom are now significant practitioners within the profession.

Since 1996 Christopher has worked as an educational consultant specializing in the arts. In addition to his work with Trinity College London - which he loves and for whom he has been all over the world in his capacity as an examiner, presenter and moderator - he was also, for five consecutive years, the chief examiner for Performing Arts with the exam board Edexcel. Currently he is actively involved in improving the quality of teaching and learning in further education and sixth-form colleges in the UK through his work as a government inspector. In this capacity he also inspects the teacher-training provision and the specialist vocational drama schools for OFSTED.

In addition to his family Christopher has many interests including writing, travel, cooking and sport. Though he has lived in North Yorkshire for 35 years he regularly wishes that he wasn't such a dedicated supporter of his home town football team: Wolverhampton Wanderers.
